switching from 200 watt HCF to 600 HPS, scrog

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by toonys, Apr 6, 2007.

  1. I have a 3.5' by 4.5' scrog setup, and i am about to put some plants under it. they have been vegging in another space under a 200watt High compact Fluorescent @ 24hours for a few weeks and are now about two feet tall and bushy(i've been beding the top branches to prepare for the scrogg.)
I now am putting them under the scrog screen and my question is: Should i continue using the 200watt HCF bulb until they have filled the screen?
or should i put them under the 600 hps right away? if so, should i continue the 24 hour regime? or go down to 18/6? i was worried going down would induce budding too soon.
my other option would be to put them under 12/12 right away and hope they grow enough to fill the screen before they start budding.

    thanks for your time.

  2. really? nobody? sob...

  3. How big is Your plant How long has it been growing? What is your growth medium?

600 watt HPS rite away. More light is always better.

You can do whatever schedual you want. It all depends on when you want to start flowering and how Big you want your plant to be.

I would Put on the HPS. Making sure you keep the temps under control! and then get the scrog started. After that put them to 12/12 once the scrog is almost full. You can still hook the Plant around the scrog for the first couple weeks of flowering.

    GOOD LUCK!
    pics would help too.

  4. The plants are about 2 ft tall and bushy at this point. they've been growing under compact fluorescent for over 3 weeks. they're in soil(black gold).

I only have two plants to fill a 3.5 X 4.5 screen, so i want them big.

I have had them on a 24 hour schedule under compact fluorescents, should i continue on a 24 hour schedule with the 600 HPS? or should i go down to 18/6? i was worried if i went down they would start budding.

I guess unless i hear back from anyone otherwise i will put them under the 600 HPS on a 24 hrs. schedule until i decide to start flowering.

  5. Put them under the 600 watt hps at the same light schedule, 24/7 for a week and then by then they prolly have started to fill the screen some and switch to flowering.
