Switch to bloom nutrients?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Green-fiend, Feb 19, 2022.

  1. Hi guys

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, just a bit of advice.

These 3 ladies ( Fastbuds Auto Afghan Kush) 2 topped with a bit of lst and one just lst'd all 5 weeks old today. Should I switch them too flowering nutrients? Don't want to screw up and feed bloom nutrients too early.

First set of pics was 7 days ago and second set of pics are today as you can see there has been some growth.

    Thanks everyone

  2. nutes are nutes bro, you need to learn at what point you start playing with different nutes...... bloom or grow nutes, they all have the same shit in them.

  3. Yes no on your answer . But Yes all the same but different amounts . I use a nutrient that is the same numbers for clones veg and flower but at diffferent ppm.
His bloom booster may have a higher potassium # then his veg nutreitns .
He should do a side by side . Feed one only veg nutreitns the other only bloom booster in flower.
Odds are they both come out the same yield depending on what nutrients they are .
to answer your question after you see them starting to form buds its time to switch nutrients . Until then use the veg nutrients . If your bloom nutreitns have zero N then this is a issue you need to mix veg and bloom.
What are the npk #s on both of your nutrient ?

  4. I often use full synthetic Canna two part bottles. They have A+B bottles for veg and another two A+B bottles for bloom. I use bloom nutrients from seed. It's one less ingredient I need to stock.

  5. I just make sure the plants are nice and green before flower like you're doing there then you can start giving them bloom nudes a week ahead of time but I usually just wait till flip. Then just watch them the first two or three weeks and see what the new growth looks like. I would say continue to give them nitro until end of week three or four depending on if they're still dark if they are you could probably cut it around the end of week three and just go with all bloom. The first three weeks into flower you throw them everything Nitro p&k and whatever else you got because they'll eat like a whore that you just took to a rehab facility

  6. Hi mate

I'm using biobizz grow and when it's time I will used bio bloom and topmax.

Biobizz grow has a ratio of 4-3-6, bio bloom has a ratio of 2-7-4.

I will take you advice and just use the grow until buds start to form, over the past week they have grew like mad and I'm start to see pistils beginning to poke out, im current on week 5 of my auto grow. I will wait another week keep an eye on growth and bud formation.

I have always fed grow at full strength until harvest do you think I should reduce it when I start feeding bloom? Just want to know encase I have been feeding wrong.

  7. i would water with plain water until you get a good runoff then check your soil ppm after the water sits an hour if its over 1000 ppm hold off on feeding if its under 1000 go with one half strength nutes

  8. I don’t switch to Bloom nutrients until day 10 of flower. After the stretch I hit em with MOAB for a week then Bloom nutrients for 3 weeks then another round of MOAB for 2 weeks (bulking period) then back to Bloom then flush last week or two. Good luck to you

  9. then you missed a very important window by waiting. to each is their own though

  10. I would switch to 1/2 grow and 1/2 bloom now. And in a couple weeks, switch to all bloom.

Now, lets talk about those fabric pots. Were they new when you started this grow?

  11. Hi mate thank you for your reply, no problem will do and thank you for your input.

Yes mate I have had them since I started growing a year ago and they were brand new out of the shop

  12. Ok so youve been reusing them. That would just be a crazy amount of buildup for new pots.

  13. Yes mate I have been reusing them each grow, should I maybe think about changing them for new ones? Is there a life span if you wanna call it that? Like use then for 2 or 3 grows then get new?

  14. I do new every time but thats not necessary, you can reuse them as many times as you want. Its just the buildup on them that had me worried. If they were new, that would mean you were doing something very wrong. But re-used, totally normal.

  15. Thank fk for that mate you had me worried, after this grow is done I will invest in some new ones because realistically they aren't that expensive, what is your thoughts on the plastic air pots instead of the material ones?

  16. I have never used a plastic air pot but ive used fabric and ive used normal plastic pots. I prefer the fabric over the plastic. I used to give my used pots to friends who grow outdoor and they would add that soil to their soil. Its only like 12 bucks for six 5 gallon pots so I was never worried about it. 12 bucks wont even buy you a half decent gram at the weed store is how I looked at it. I use 20 gallon pots now. last year i gave one to the neighbor and he grew one of the biggest tomato plants ive ever seen in it. I might do that this year if my body will let me.

  17. 2/7/4 IS a great number . So you know you could veg with that bloom booster if that was all you had .
Switch them whenever you like . So you know i switch nutrietns after i see flowers forming ,
Higher n in veg lower in flower . With the bloom booster your using honestly you can switch them whenever . But your doing autos . So this is a subjective answer . My answer is switch once you see pree flowers forming .
Edited i used to swith from 10/10/10 veg to /5/45/15 bloom. Now i use a nutrient i no longer switch just add more of it . Note i used to veg with 5/45/15 I thinks it was called beastice blooms i could be incorrect i had a lot of laying around and i wanted to use it up never to go back for reasons .. I kepy a mother plant for 4 months using the 5/45/15 zero issues . So lot of subjective info.
But if you get info from a commercial grower take it . Thats my opinion.

  18. they are looking sad i didnt want to comment on the salt buildup Roots need to be Happy bottom line not encased in a block of salt lol

  19. Being a fabric pot i doubt the salt buildup on the outside is hurting much.

Thanks for your input the pictures I put up were taken when the girls were about to got to bed.

I know they look unhappy but would you look your best if you were under a heat lamp for 18 hours just above your head and ready to go sleep lol

Checked this morning and they are back to being perky again.

I will change my pots after this grow is finished, might try plastic air pots next
