Swimming and my Hair

Ok so i've been swimmig a lot lately cuz its really hot. I have natural Dark Dark brown hair but since i've been swimming almost everyday , i noticed my hair is going from brown and starting to get Blonde. I need to know how to reverse this. i don't like my hair this light . Lol .

Any thing you guys know that would help?

Step Number One: Wear a bathing cap when swimming.

This is perhaps the easiest way to prevent excessive chlorine damage to your hair. Swimming caps are pretty antiquated pieces of summer wear. But they are probably the most effective tools for keeping your hair safe.

Step Number Two: Condition the hair before swimming.

You would best serve your hair if you condition before hopping into the swimming pool. Chlorine causes excessive dryness within the hair shaft. Adding a layer of conditioner on top of the hair will prevent chlorine from penetrating. But you should make sure to wet the hair before adding conditioner. Not only does the additional moisture help the conditioner penetrate the shaft, it also creates an additional barrier against the chlorine.

Step Number Three: Tie up (or braid) your hair.

In addition to keeping the hair out of your eyes and face while swimming, tying it up or breaking it also prevents the chlorine from penetrating all the way through out your hair. Pull your tresses into a bun; or into a few braids, prior to swimming. This little trick combined with the added conditioner will keep the chemicals from damaging your hair shaft.

Step Number Four: Use a chlorine-stripping shampoo.

Your first instinct upon emerging from the swimming pool should be to rinse the chemicals from your hair. Upon doing so, using special shampoo that is designed to strip chlorine from your hair. There are several products on the market that are designed for this purpose, depending upon your hair type and texture.

Step Number Five: Conditioned hair after swimming.

As such, this is also the best time for you to apply another conditioning treatment. With the sun and chlorine drying out your hair by the minute, additional moisture is never a bad thing.

In the event that you can't get your hands on all the products needed, you can probably substitute the second conditioning step by rinsing the hair with baking soda. All in all, this five step process may sound a little involved. But it is probably no more elaborate than your typical hairstyling process. Your hair will thank you in the end.
