Heyyyyy, What's up Grassscity!? I've developed a keen interest in the cultivation of marijuana through countless hours of thread-reading on this excellent site and finally, FINALLY I have 2 germinated seeds getting ready to sprout under 101w of CFL each. I have 6 26w 6500k cfl's and 2 23w 2700k cfl's hovering just above two party cups filled with Miracle Grow ( I know, I know but it was free and my ass is broke). About one inch below the surface of the Miracle Grow sit two happy little Fast Bud feminized autoflowering seeds all the way from Amsterdam. I'm posting this thread because guys, I AM GOING TO NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET!!! and because I think a journal on my first grow will make me a better horticulterer faster. I won't be able to post pictures for a couple weeks because my iphone broke and as was before mentioned I am totally broke but I'll give ya everything I can and in advance I'd like to thank anyone who posts here with any advice or information to share. Knowledge is power!! THE 'HELLA' GHETTO RIG So I've got four sections of a cardboard box covered in tin foil taped and pinned to the walls and ceiling of a section of my closet with one sitting below the party cups with the lil' MJ babies. I got my CFL's all taped together with electric tape and they're hanging like a chandelier from extension cords that wrap around the hanger pole on the top of my closet. I've got this uber cheap creation enclosed with a door made of a fitted sheet. THE NUTE PLAN Put simply: FoxFarm Grow Big & FoxFarm Tiger Bloom. Since I'm working on the tight 6 week grow-period of Sweet Seeds' Fast Bud I'm thinking I'll introduce the Grow Big two weeks after I see the sucker pop out of the soil and switch to Tiger Bloom as soon as I see the first signs of budding. I'm planning to use half of the recommended dosages every other watering. I have two separate 1 gallon containers of distilled water so I'm planning to mix one with the nutes and leave the other pure and alternate everytime I water. LIGHTING 24 hours of CFL for these ladies. 101 watts each. 7,000 lumens each (plus whatever the make-shift tin foil reflectors add...). 23w 2700k and 78w 6500k for each plant... maybe since they're in the same ghetto rig they'll be getting more than 7,000 lumens each... I mean there's 14,000 to go around.... JOURNAL 08-24 2:34 pm Stuck seeds into small cup filled 75% with distilled water. They both floated. Tried to push em down with my finger after 10 minutes but was unsuccessful so left them floating inside of the cup inside of my sock drawer. 08-25 9:30 am I removed the seeds from the distilled water and placed them on top of several layers of paper towel on a small plate. Covered them with two more layers and dripped water on the paper towel until it was very moist. Kept it moist; checked every 5 or 6 hours and usually added some drops of water to keep it damp. 11 pm I was surprised to find the seeds already had a small white stem sticking out in the toilet paper. The stems were VERY, VERY SMALL. Their length was about half the length of the width of my pinky nail. I saturated some of the Miracle Grow with water in two party cups with four drainage holes cut into the bottom of each. I pushed my finger about an inch into the soil, stuck the seedlings stem-down inside the hole and covered them with the medium. After that I put them under the CFL's inside my ghetto rig. I'm nervous about watering and have read that that's where a lot of fuckups happen. I put the seed in damp soil at 11pm and at about 7:30 the following morning I watered them again. I watered until I saw very light drainage at the bottom of the cups. I was afraid I'd left them too dry the night before but after checking up on things here and on Rollitup I think I may have overdone it. My plan is to let the soil get dry and then water it again until a tiny bit seeps out of the drainage holes. Unless there is a better method for watering I plan to continue doing this throughout the life of the plants. Anway, I'll post again when these guys break out of the ground or if anything new comes up and I'll have some pictures on here in the next three weeks or so. Please comment, I AM DYING FOR YOUR OPINIONS!!! I am the noob master so if you know what you're doing please bless me with your guidance. I'll smoke a bowl to your wisdom in 7-10 weeks if you can give me something good. Cheers everybody P.S. I'm planning on putting these sexy little vixens in either 5 gallon or 3 gallon pots... already got the 5 gallon ones but 3 would certainly be more convenient if the extra 2 gallons isn't terribly important. What do you guys think?
hey did you harvest your babies? and if so how much did you yield per plant? im growin two AF's in my closet with some ghetto CFL setup too ha let me know what i should be expectin
