ok so im 18 and still on court supervision for weed possesion last year. on saturday i got arrested for a drinking ticket. i was really drunk and all night i was swearing and yelling shit at the cops and spitting in the cell and shit. just wondering when i go to court if i can somehow get a worse punishment? i answered all questions they asked and all that but was really obnoxious. thanks
Slightly less short answer: No, BUT Doubtful you would incurr additional legal penalties for hurling verbal abuse at the officers (not illegal to swear at them, at least here), but you open yourself up to shitty treatment at their hands, possible resisting arrest charges, interfering with an officer in the course of duty, and much less leniency with your judge.

Here it could only be considered an assault charge if you actually threaten them. Bottom line. Be polite and respectful while understanding and asserting your rights.
That's the big one. Once they read that you were such a jerk about the whole thing, your judge isn't likely to give you a slap on the wrist. Your previous criminal record doesn't help. Good luck. Also, just on the subject, depending on where you live, you can be charged with "disrupting the peace" or "disruption of public order" or a similar charge. That will usually occur if they got nothing else to haul you off for. Most police, as I understand it, will let you swear and curse as much as you want if you're arrested on some other charges, because they know when the judge ends up reading the report, they won't be a fan of your style. I dont believe writing to them will help your charges since you never did much to really hurt them.. BUT. Next time those cops pick you up, get ready for a BEAT DOWN kid... I've had friends get into it with cops and it always turns into a shit show when they ever get in trouble again... I know a kid who got into a fight with a cop at a HS hockey game a month ago, last week cops from my city went in his house and FUCKED SHIT UP one night...
