In about an hour, we're going out to see the 2011 Supermoon. This is the closest the moon has been to earth, and the biggest full moon, in more than 18 years.
I got my cigarettes and booze ready to go...just in case i get a front row seat to the end of the world.
I can't wait for this, I've got a bunch of friends coming over and I'm gonna have a bon fire and drink beer. gonna be a good night
i read today (cant remember where) that the moon will actually only be something like .6% bigger, and not noticeable to the naked eye what a bummer
shit me and my friends used to do... i miss those kids... shit sucks when you graduate and everyone parts ways. it really is a whole new life.
trust me, my soul was crushed. ive been excited about this super moon thing for a month now and then i had to go and read that article
'Supermoon' rising this weekend - latimes.com "The so-called "supermoon" will appear about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal, according to NASA."
Earlier tonight it was all the way to the left of my view low in the sky, huge, yellow. Now it is in the middle way up there. Back to normal white, not big looking with the yellow aura it had earlier. I was just going outside to look at it...damn...now it's not worth making the noise to go out the sliding glass door. I didn't get a chance to gaze for a while...been on gc lol
Did you see it big with the yellow aura? If not you missed it. On Nasa it said it was full at 1 pm so if you didn't catch it at sundown you probably missed it.
There was no aura from my perspective. Sure that wasn't just pollution? I also thought it was over-hyped. Glad I was too broke to go camping and tripping.
