5 weeks from popping seeds. Topped 1 of the C99 plants at 4th true node to grow out mains for cloning. Other C99 began mutating, 3 growing tips per node; and growth slowed. Still letting it grow, but will clone the larger plant for this grow. Topped both white widows at 3rd true node; removed growing tips on 3rd node from larger one (right) to give smaller plant a chance to catch up. Transplanted both to 6-gal buckets, each with 2 bubblers. Moved them to 4’x4’ tent, under 750w and 450w Kind LEDs (750 set at 30/60/60 until they acclimate, 450 not adjustable). Leds are at top of tent for now, 18hr on cycle. Full veg nutes.
Cab QB is in. 3000k so definitely more yellow looking light than the COB light which had 3*3000k and 3*5000k. Can't jack the QB up quite as high as I had the COB, but since it's dimmable and the light is more evenly dispersed I think I should be able to manage nicely. Probably move the auto to the tent and the photos to the cab today or tomorrow.
It's the 320W XL kit from Horticulture Lighting Group. 3 * QB288s on an aluminum heatsink wired up in series. Equivalent to a 600 watt lamp - got it running at full blast and temps are great.
Cab boards are 3000k. The single-board one in the tent is 4000k. Spectrums for the different available color temps in the diagram. 2700k and 3000k are better for flower, but 3000k should be suitable for some veg too. 4000k is definitely better for veg but I'll see how the auto does under it anyway.
Built them. Its really not too complicated and they sell most of the parts. I'm planning to make a change to the wiring from power supply to the board(s) so I can move the power supplies out of the grow space. Probably a little less bright than the Kind with what I put together - they can certainly be configured to be brighter though - just would need a stronger power supply. That said, this config puts down plenty of light without getting too hot. Pretty impressive stuff for a few circuit boards and a heatsink. I'm really feeling like I have the cab optimized now.
Did a water change in the cab yesterday and then moved the plants around. Got the recently-topped clones in the cab now and am training the auto sideways in the tent.
Clone Day - Cinderella 99 strain Cloner Mother plant - 8 mains; cut 6 for clones, left 2 for backup plant. Mains 5-7” length, at least 3 sets of leaves; cut at node on main stem Leaves/growing tip on bottom node of main removed All clones placed immediately in water Portiion below neoprene plug dipped in rooting gel and rooting powder Immediately after inserting plugs in cloner lid A few minutes later, normal wilting Next morning
tomorrow aside frm doin the lndry i gotta finish buildin 3 cu of soil..did the perilite/ manure today tomorrow pull the rest of my amendments and grind them together in mixer and apply to soil..mix thoughly..wet dwn to activate..turn over for two days several times and i'm done for the season
