Sunlight For Sprouts...How Much?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by SMOKE O'PLENTY, Jun 3, 2010.

  1. I have some plants that just sprouted 3-4 days ago and are on a balcony where they are getting about 3 hours worth of direct sun every day. Would it be too soon to put them in another part of my yard where they can get 6 hours of sun? Or are they too young still? I'm just worried that they may end up getting fried with the direct sun. Thanks for any advice.

  2. Hi Smoke,

In my experience, anything over about 90 degrees and you're taking a considerable risk of heat stressing seedlings, which means smaller plants, more males and lower yields. If you have easy access to them, just set them out in the morning then move them to a shadier area as the day heats up.

  3. I agree more light prob b good but midday I would leave em shaded. When its super hot plants tend to strech as well
