I I need help on this sunflower, how to harvest,idk when It's an redish sunflower,I took off the leafs it looked dead than the others.. do I just cut it off ? I'm using potting mix! From miracle grow!
From old memory: Without cutting down the flower, when the petals die off, place the head in a paper sack and tie the sack around the stem tightly with string. leave it for a few days and the seeds will fall out and land in the sack as the flower dries out. Not all varieties are good for eating though.
