    Hmm, not sure if this thread really belongs here but I thought it would be really helpful! If this thread isn't okay feel free to take it down!

    Well, I was thinking I should start a thread for anyone who has any tips for people struggling with this new setup or if anyone has any suggestions they can post them here!

    For one tip I had to search hard to find out how to edit the colors on this site, so for anyone who doesn't like the new looks download Google Chrome and get the extension Stylebot, then you can change the colors. You can edit the CSS and paste a code I got from someones post in another thread to make the forums look like the old one, ask me for the code if you want it.

    Also, for suggestions, I would have to say that GC should change the sites colors without people having to use stylebot, since it is pretty bland. I'm sure they will get on that when they have the time though.

  2. You can also change the color by clicking on the color pallet which is next to the header "Chill Out Zone" at the top of the page.

    Download stylebot and click Edit CSS then paste this for old GC colors. Thanks to Stoned342 for code.

    And for anyone who would rather do their own custom Stylebot theme, it's actually really easy to use once you get the hang of it.

    I can try to answer any questions people have, but I'll go over the basics real quick.

    Once you download Stylebot, go to GC and click the Stylebot button on the far left of your URL bar. From there you can use the "Click to select" button in the upper left of the Stylebot window to select the area you want to edit.

    There are a lot of different selectable areas, so make sure you're getting the right one. Posts for instance will have separate areas for the  text, signature, signature area, and the entire post area. You can change the post background color, text color, font face, etc, by selecting the entire post area.

    So instead of this;

    [IMG]

    You want this;

    [IMG]

    (Note the neon green boxes, they're kind of hard to see)

    From there, you use the Stylebot window to make all your edits, here's my example;
    [IMG]

    (Color being the text color, and background color being... well, obviously the background color)

    There are a lot of sites for selecting hex color codes, this is the one I use; http://colorschemedesigner.com/
    Click the "adjust scheme" tab on the bottom to adjust saturation/brightness and hover over the colored areas on the right to see the hex code.

    You might notice I did a lot of random edits to mine... I wanted to make the buttons smaller for instance, so at first I used the selector button to select the icons and "hide" them in Stylebot, but that sometimes caused all the avatars to disappear so I had to use Adblock for some of them.
    I also made the buttons have a font size of 10, a line height of 16 (that option will move the text up or down for you) and a height of 19.

    If you mess anything up, there's an "Undo" button that will come in handy. And it would be in your best interest to click on "Edit CSS" and copy/paste the text from there into a notepad file from time to time in case you mess something up and have to revert back to a previously saved working layout.

    Oh, one more thing. The posts are pretty close together now, but they were really spaced out at the beginning so I used Stylebot to bring them closer together. It's still handy in some areas of the forums with a lot of spacing. I did that by selecting the top bar of a post (the part with the username/posted time) and adjusted the top margin to -10 px. Putting a negative number in a margin area will move it closer to whatever side the margin is on.
    What ended up happening is that doing that also brought the posts too close to the top of the page so that the "replies to this topic" bar at the top was partially covered, so I selected that area and changed the bottom margin of that area to 35, so that it moves everything below the bar downward.

    Okay there, that's my Stylebot tips for beginners. :p

  5. We need a live chat room. it would be nice and bring us together as a community.

  6.
    so much moderation would be required that i believe it will never happen lol

  7.
    Things like that have been attempted and went terribly, it's not likely that there will ever be another GC chatroom.

  8. Ok, but for only registered members with 300...4000 post +. You can't go wrong with that.

  9.
    Ohhhhh yes you can

    It's unfortunate but it's not going to happen, man. Chats aren't even currently allowed here. :p

    Thats incredibly wrong

    just because you post here a bunch does not in anyway mean you will follow the rules in a chat

    If we did make a chat, breaking rules in it would have to be an instant ban, due to the implications it comes with

    People could orchestrate deals and shit over a chat fairly easily, which turns GC into a drug dealing hub, and then GC gets shut down and we all lose

    can definitely go wrong with that

  11. Oh, didn't think of it like that. Well....How's the weather?
