Suggested Ways to Prevent Paranoia

  1. I was wondering if people could start suggesting ways for people who suffer paranoia and how to avoid it, but still being able to smoke weed. A friend of mine suffers from it frequently and I think it sucks so... I'm here askin. Thanks
     
  2. Build a tolerance, seasoned smokers rarely experience paranoia.
     
  3. Listen to some chill music.

    Like some Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Slightly Stoopid, Sublime, and whatnot.
    Grab some munchies, and chill.
     
  4. Smoke everyday, after a week or two you'll be so used to weed you'll like it a lot more.. all the negative effects get better as time goes by, after awhile you'll barely even cough when you take a huge rip.

  7. I still get it very occasionally, it's always some fucking annoying thought that freaks me out.
    What I've learnt to do is say to myself "that's a really interesting thing to consider, but I'm really stoned right now so I'm going to put that thought in a box and place it up there on a shelf until tomorrow when I'll get the box down and open it up and think about that thought indepthly".

    Then I kick back and listen to some chill music or something. Everytime the thought tries to come back I just say "yep, that's an interesting thought all right, it's right up there in that box there and I'll think about it indepthly tomorrow when I'm not high".

    It actually works very well for me.

  8. Find a comfy place. Somewhere where you all feel very safe and comfortable. For example, my safe place is my computer room. I have all kinds of stuff to keep my mind off the idea of something negative happening.

    EDIT: POST 1300!!! WOOOOO I have no life!

  10. as other people have said, the more you smoke the less it will bother you. you'll kinda grow out of it and things will just seem o.k.

    example: 2 friends and I went to walmart (got high beforehand, of course) and after we left this guy started following us in his car. at first we didn't think anything of it, but we try to shake him anyway by cutting across 2 lanes to get to the left turn lane. strangely enough, this dude follows. after a few turns later, we know he's following us. however, the whole time my friends are freaking out, i'm sittin there trying to calm them down sayin "maybe he realized he needed to turn left too" :smoke: he followed me back to my house but nothing happened. i just thought the whole thing was funny and exciting.
     
  11. Hmm, I was also wondering this. I smoke a lot though and have been for 4 years so Im quite the seasoned toker. But I almost always exeprience paranoia and its starting to kill a lot of buzzes for me.

    Hope both of us can overcome this!
     
  12. I think there must be two types of paranoia, one is the "oh fuck everyone must
    know I'm stoned" type. This is normal and you just ignore it.

    The other is the "oh fuck I'm really fucking freaked out" type and doesn't seem to
    happen very often, at least for me it doesn't. Maybe once every two years?


    Anyone agree/disagree??
     
  13. ive got anxiety issues to begin with, smoking helps mine, but then when i get completely blitz i get this thought in my head that i have an allergy to it and start to freak myself out...how do i cope with this? i take one more hit, let it out VERY slowly, and put in some movie that i love....lately its been surfs up...its usually some kind of cartoon that has characteristics of my real life in it...always make it funnier and easier to forget about whatever you were originally thinking of that made you anxious

    but yes, smoke more pot and just try to remember to breathe and think of something else....like kittens...or boobs
