  1. ive been reading some works in psycholgy lately. no matter how difficult it may be to fully understand myself, i plow on. im wondering what the psych majors (if any) or just those who may be just as interested would suggest for reading material. the only real psych book ive read is The Undiscovered Self by Jung, a short read, but o-so-good. lately my focus has been on Jung and Freud but im open to other authors. any books or works in regards to individualism, spiritualism, and other social psycholitic topics anyone might suggest would be much appreciated.

  2. on these topics i suggest you "read" the comunication you can enter into, most easily facilitated by the accompanyment of large dosages of ayahuasca, or mescaline, or perhaps even psylocybin, and further, LSD or LSA.

then you could probably write your own book if you're well "tuned" enough. aware, and open.

  3. Digit, speaking of LSA, how have your past experiences been with it? I'm looking forward to trying it myself in about a week or two, and I'm trying to see what it might be like; I posted a thread about it in the General forum and got some great answers, but I'd love to hear more.

Speaking of Psychology, however, I suggest you read (If you haven't already) Aldous Huxley's essay, The Doors of Perception. It's truly a fascinating read, albeit difficult to understand because of Huxley's massive vocabulary, but IMO, it's a required staple in anyone interested in studying Psychology's library. www.erowid.org also has a Library section if you look up at the top after venturing further than the main page. All the books are searchable, and there are quite a few on the subjects of Philosophy and Spirituality; They're all available for sale on Amazon too.

  4. Timothy Leary is fantastic. He was a Harvard psychology professor and psychedelic advocate in the 1960s. I highly recommend Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out as an intro to Leary. It's less psychology, and more philosophy, but a great read nonetheless, and a good way to prime yourself for his more psychology-based works, if that's what you're looking for.

  5. One book that I plan to read this year is Radical Departures. It's deals with why young (18-26) people feel the need to leave everything behind and join cults when they're from a loving, middle class family. Usually these kids are smart and well behaved, but the main unifying trait in these radical departures is that they dont have solid values/beliefs. They also don't really have a clear idea with where their going with their lives.... it seems kind of like me so i think i'll find it interesting.

Check out Amazon listamanias for books that you may like
