Substituting Pool Shock for Clear-Rez

Discussion in 'Aeroponics' started by Smarty, Jan 4, 2018.

  1. I have read a few articles on using pool shock to make the equivalent of Clear-Res. The formula is 1 gram of pool shock to 1 gallon of water for the concentrate, and then mixing 1 ounce of this concentrate to every 5 gallons of water.
The problem I have run into with the pool shock is there are 3 types. They are: calcium hypochlorite (cal-hypo), sodium di-chlor (di-chlor), and potassium monopersulfate (non-chlorine/oxidizer). Has anyone ever tried this and if so which one should be used?

  3. Thanks, I am not one to trust everything that is written on the internet. Any chance you have experimented with this?

Doc uses it in his hydro setups I know. Post on his thread a question as to exactly what and how he uses it.
Nice guy I'm sure he'll be happy to assist.

  7. Excuse me for chiming in, but sounds dumb as hell. WHY? Just use a cap of bleach and ph afterwards if you can’t afford the clear rez
