Substitute for iso alcohol?

    Is there anything that I can use as a substitute for iso alcohol when cleaning my pipe? I don't have any right now and the store I went to didn't have any today. They should have more soon but they weren't sure when. Is there any thing I can use right now that will work almost as well that I might have in my house?

    Very high alcohol content liquor will work to some extent.

    if you let your tap water get as hot as it possibly can, it is hot enough to melt res.

    you could also try boiling the piece in water to clean it.

    hexane pentane are 2 good solvents, we use pentane for quick washes.

    Boiling water = BAD for glass.

    Just stick with iso or like he said, very hot, but not boiling water from the faucet.
