So when I say a friend of mine told me this, it isn't me trying to cover up for this idiotic idea. So he lives in a little house, little rooms, badish neighborhood. So he decided to tell me that he is going to grow sour d in his bathroom. He is going to go get the pots, potting soil, etc from home depot. The bathroom In question, is maybe 12ft by 8. One window. One over head light. He wants me to buy him seeds offline, which I really don't want to do. Is this a stupid idea? It seems to me the plant won't get enough light, the wrong nutrients without certain weed related growing product, and be in an infested house that has TONS of roaches, spiders etc That would inhabit the weed and kill it as well? Plus wouldn't his neighbours smell the huge amount of growing weed??
There are many ways that it can be done undetected. However by the the detailed nature of the "plan" you described, I would be inclined to agree with u, idiotic idea. Tell your buddy to get on GC and start reading if he really wants to have any success. You can't throw some plants in a bathroom turn on the light and expect them to grow.

I'm sorry. Knowing him, with the statement, "get on GC". That would be a horrible idea. He never gets on the computer. Everyone would think he was a troll.
Nothing inherently wrong with a plan to grow in a bathroom, depends on how you set it up. You need good lighting, air ventilation, temp control, odor control. If in mentioning the one window and one light fixture you mean that your friend intends to use those as his only light source for the plants, then yes big fail. If you aren't comfortable getting seeds for him then don't. If he can handle the finances and responsibilities of owning a house then he can figure out how to order some seeds. And if he doesn't want to do it online then he is limiting his options unnecessarily. His choice, but then also his problem.
My first grow was in a bathroom and played it all by ear. Used CFLs grew 3 White Widows all turned out great. Buying seeds online with a place like Attitude is just fine..illegal but never had a issue as most if not almost all on here have not.
This huge amount of weed you speak of......isnt going to happen in those conditions....unless you spend some serious bread and convert that bathroom into a full grow room
