Hi all, I clearly did not learn my lesson from last grow and overwatered my seedling. I've been letting the soil completely dry since then and she seems to be recovering, but there was a good week there with very little growth at all. This is her about 3 days from seed 14 days from seed, respectively. Note how dark green/droopy and leaning the seedling was during the drowning phase. Do you think she'll eventually recover and grow normally, or do you think the stunted growth at this stage will affect her final yield/potency? I'm trying to decide if I should keep pushing forward or just start over. She looks much healthier and seems to be slowly accelerating growth, but she is growing much slower than any other seedling I've taken care of. I'm using FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil, LED lights, and plain water only right now (pH = 6.5). The strain is supposedly "sour patch kush," which is supposed to be strawberry cough x OG kush x sour diesel. Please let me know what you think!
It'll probably recover, but there is definitely a problem........although I don't know the cause, other than the seedling is unhappy. You would have been better off starting in a smaller pot.........maintaining the proper moisture/oxygen level in a large pot will be a challenge. These are 14 days from sprout for a comparison. Good luck.
at 14 days she is pretty small i had one of my seeds do the same and the plant right now never grew bigger than 10 inches its 2 months old hopefully yours will do better is this your only plant going?
I always advise growers to add 30% perlite or clean river sand to any FFOF mix for this very reason its hot stuff, at this age it can be extracted mixed in then re inserted with ease any wilting keep in the shade until recovered good luck
Yes, this is the only plant I have going right now. Work/family life is a bit busy at the moment, so hesitant to do more than one at a time for now. I was going to give it another week or two to see if she picked up. If not, I have more seeds ready to go at a moment's notice!
Thank you all for your replies! She's steadily growing and continuing to develop new nodes, so I'm hopeful she'll recover and begin growing vigorously in the coming days. I was planning to attempt mainlining which I'm a little worried about since it'll stress her out again, but I definitely won't try anything until she is stronger. If things don't pick up in the next week or two, I suppose I will start over and try again. I think the issue was definitely overwatering which is very easy to do in a large pot. Another lesson learned the hard way!
