Studies on the psychological effects of cannabis

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Kedeli, Oct 6, 2011.

  1. I was just wondering whether there is much scientific studies done on the psychological effect of cannabis on your mind when you smoke it. Like how it actually leads you to think in different ways and mind sets, yesterday I got super baked for the first time in a long time and it felt as though every thing I thought I knew about life suddenly vanished and all this new crazy information suddenly overwhelmed me. I was looking at life from a totally new perspective but after it went i couldn't remember it. I just was wondering if people actually look into this and whether much scientific studies have been done on how it alters your thinking patterns and how it does it?

  2. Look up dr. Grinspoons research

  3. There are literally hundreds of different response when cannabinoids attach to their receptors.

You're body makes a natural THC and it is basically the body's super drug.

  4. Iv'e been stoned many times but sometimes it's different, like i think in ways which i literally couldn't put into words. It's very hard to explain what I mean but that isn't the goal of this thread. I just want to get a sense of how much attention is payed by the scientific community to mind altering drugs and their effects on thought processes and the mind.

  5. I don't have any scientific references but it definitely "opens" your mind up. I like the way I think when I am stoned and many times I end up making a note of something I thought of or mentally explored so I don't forget it, and everything I have made notes of makes complete sense even when sober.

  6. I agree with the comment that people who smoke are more peaceful and open minded, however, I know a lot of cunts that smoke daily and they will never be peaceful or openminded. Some people smoke for different reasons though. Those people smoke to get as high as possible and mong out. I smoke to explore my mind.

  7. Yeah I am compelled to take notes when I am stoned! It's just sometimes I can't put what I think into words and it becomes frustrating..

  8. It may sound wierd but when I smoke I usually like to take time to explore my thoughts. I like to explore my fears, for some reason Cannabis helps me get past the wall of fear ... I had to get past a small wall of "panic" before I could do this though :smoke: I also like to explore what makes me happy and why, so that i can focus on those things more. I have been doing that for the last 2 months and things are really changing for the better!

Thus the reason cannabis is so good for PTSD as well as an aide for addicts and alcoholics to curb their addictions. Introspective thinking is a must durring those healing processes and we all know how introspective weed can be
