Striking Up Weed Convo's

I'm in a similar situation, having recently moved to Memphis, TN from out of state.
Just a few days ago I found success by asking around on a college campus. In fact, I lucked out and got connected to a source from a member of the first group of students I asked.
Knowing nothing about you, I don't know if this would be a workable approach for you or not; I'm young enough to blend in pretty well with college students, so I suppose it wasn't as strange or awkward as it could have been. That being said, I believe most would agree that Portland is a (far) more weed-friendly city than Memphis. As such, it would stand to reason that "Hey mister"-ing in your neck of woods would be less sketchy and perhaps even more likely to lead to the desired outcome.

If you want to get risky go to a bad neighborhood and just look for the hoods on the corner. Go to parks, schools, malls and other recreation areas and look for chill people. Guys with long hair, tattoos, piercings, skateboards, customized rides and as i said before cigarette smokers. Webehigh.com is a good resource to use. In college its easiest just to sit at a table in front of a dorm, light up a cig then down the line in conversation with whoever else smokes cigs ask if you drink and burn. Usually less sketch to ask if they drink first. i usually look for punk kids. Now I just ask all my friends constantly if they know anyone new. And I've accidentally bumped into dealers on the street. My first was a rastfarian who gave me his number on a ripped piece of printer paper and told me hit him up. He sold me everything from a dollar bag to quarter pound. And yes i wrote DOLLAR BAG. he was the shiznit.

 

Honestly, I've seen some wierd sh*t at college. Theres this one old guy that runs through in a tight tank and short shorts. People walk their dog all the time through the campus. I've even noticed some of them smoking while they walk the dog. It might feel wierd but everything at colleges are so don't be afraid. Some people in my classes are in their 30s and 40s even older than that. This one guy who works for the college, me and my friend talk to him about weed all the time and hes at least 50. We smoked with our 30 something year old janitor at the university I used to attend and talked to him about so many hard drugs, trading tripping stories and everything. You will never know until you put yourself out there. and remember its a college campus, there arent any underage people there so you wont be charged for pedophilia if that is scaring you off. I'm not trying to put you out of your comfort zone but when I did and I opened up I met so many people and now it has become a simple mass text to start a race to see who will give me the bag first. What used to take me hours now takes me less than the delivery of Dominos.

It would in no way be weird for a 23 year old to show up on a college campus. In fact, I guarantee NO ONE would think anything of it.
I understand your desire to find bud through means other than simply asking random people for it......but I guess it just comes down to how badly you want it.
Plus, you needn't necessarily go onto campus in the literal sense. Instead you could just focus on checking out places at which one would expect young folks (who toke) to show up.

 

I got my newest contact from simply asking him "Hey man, where you get that shirt?"

If you really want weed, wear Marijuana clothing, and colors, and smoke a cigarette if you wanna increase the chances, people would ask you where u get your gear or, you can do the same to others u see with those rasta hats.

Be like "Hey where did you get hat?" he would tell you then say shit like, any idea where I can find some?

Ask around any place that sells bongs or sexual toys/porn/sexy outfits. People in these shops are usually super open minded to anything and will help you out if they can.

Be casual and polite, say you're new to town and you're looking to buy some weed. Worst case scenario they know nobody, but you can pick up a few pornos or a sexy outfit for your partner. You're having a good night whatever the outcome.
