Stretch in veg? Why so slow? Thick and bushy.

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Getting better, Apr 16, 2019.

  1. I'm almost into the 5th week of veg and the girls aren't stretching. The nodes are an inch apart .I did lst on them but the plant is so dense the bud sites are struggling .I moved the light up 4 inches to a total of 30 inches off top of plants. Will I get a stretch in veg or not until I trigger to 12/12?

  2. The 12/12 flip will cause the stretch.

  3. They look like a heavy indica leaning strain so theyre never gunna be giants. But as i do, you entice some stretching in veg by backing up the light some more. If i have indica leaning strains i usually back the lights up around 4th week in veg to have the stretch a few inches before actual flower stretch, open up the last few node spaces so i can get some big stacks through flower.

  4. Sounds great guys, thanks . These are Jack Herer x Girl Scout Cookies .the one stretched and I'm tieing it back but I'll wait to veg till they're about 2ft tall i think. I have 6 ft text and another room that's 7.5 ft if needed. I read about this strain and they say it'll stretch a lot .Have you guys grown Jack's girls before?

  5. Jack stretches for the sky bro, no doubt about that, she almost caught me out - found myself supercropping in flower.

  6. I'd trash those clay pots, as they often lead to nute burn

being that the terracotta absorbs moisture

leaving nute salts to tox the plant later

also many plants alow their roots to cling to the pot

making potting up.. a pain with serious transplant shock

black round 3-5 usg plastic pot is good

    cheers/

  8. Actually those are plastic moppails and I painted them green. They were white and I was afraid of the roots getting light. I think is like to switch to fabric...any thoughts on those? Have you used them?

  10. Yeah my first run with autos never turned out .I have a couple northern lights x blueberry autos going so I'll see how they turn out .I also have a couple somango's started and a blue dream. Never grew those before either. Any favorite strains you recommend?

  11. in truth the market is moving way too quick

besides I'm a Land race type of guy ..lol

  12. Give em' another week with the lights raised up like GrowerAnonymous said and then maybe 12/12.
I think you are gonna run out of room and the bottoms will starve. Keep tying them sideways, stop topping, trim sucker leaves that are blocking the lower tops.
2nd week of 12/12 they will stretch, be ready for it.
