What about "Hei-would you like to go to the prom with me?" Usually does the trick Really....we don't have proms over here, but this usually did it for me, if you replace prom with cafe, movies, etc.

Yeah dude. To any reasonable girl, the whole like "go all out with flowers and poems and endless declarations of love" thing doesn't really work. For example, my girlfriend, I was gonna ask her to go out with me in person and be really incredibly sweet about it and shit... so while I was asking her to hang out with me she was just like "Dude... just ask me." So I was like... alright, and I did. We've been going out for almost 5 months and they've been some of the happiest I've ever had.
