Strange & Awesome: Another Weed Miracle

Last night I was in a friends house, the marijuana had been smoked, the scene had been set. We smoked a few dutch joints and hit a bong each. The weed strains were Purple Kush & LSD, hydroponically grown. All together very pugent stuff. Our plan was to watch the Japanese anime film, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, a studio Ghibili movie, a masterpiece. We sat down on his couch, threw on the huge LCD, and started the picture.
Right before the movie ended, he burst out laighing, "You won't believe what we just did", "What? i said perplexed". "We watched the whole entire film in Japanese without English subtitles". I was so confused, only then did the words start transforming into and unintelligible language. Seconds later the credits rolled. We looked at each other, both knowing we had expierenced the same phenomeon. I genuinely full understood that film and every dialogue and scene that went with it. It being his second time, he was aided by his first viewing. This I rationlise by the body language of the characters and the imagery and scenery used by the animation company explaining how I understood all the detail. But this concurrance, does not satisfy me, as I know when I was oblivious to the language spoken, I could just process the understanding without forming it into words. Some funky stuff! we proceeded to talk and smoke about it all night.

I literally discussed every scene after the movie with my friend, the film was that good. Studio Ghibili do tons of other films of such a high caliber. I've pretty much watched them all, some favourites are Porco Rosso, Howls Moving Castle, Pom Poko, Laputa: Castle in the Sky & Spirited Away to name a few.
