So I have been doing alot of research lately on what strain's I should grow next season. I was thinking about: Hollands Hope Durban Poison Voodoo Easy Sativa Dready Berry Are they any good for this crappy climate? P.S. Going to be growing organic, so just good old rain water Thank You
pretty much all strains will grow in your climate, the only issue with most is that they wont finish flowering fast enough, before they start rotting away or freeze. the shorter the flowering time, the better your chances are, although there supposedly are some differences in mold receptiveness as well. I live in northern germany, so I got crappy weather as well, and this year I first grew some weed with some friends. I chose "frisian dew" by dutch passion (feminized, some purple x soem skunk) as a strain and it worked out pretty great on a friend's patio and in the garden. although both plants looked quite sativa-ish in terms of leaf shape and the big one also stretched like a sativa, both finished at the beginning of october. the little one might have gone another week, but the big one had tiny bits of mold, so we just harvested them both. both plants' buds smell, look and smoke great, the big one being completely purple with denser buds made up of much smaller calyxes, on the small one the calyxes are much bigger, but less densely packed, about 1/4 purple and the effect is even stronger. the high with both is pretty balanced for both body and head. its probably the best weed Ive ever smoked, but Im mostly used to some regular shit that never comes with a name, never is properly flushed and sometimes cut. I love this strain and I totally recommend it, although I dont have any experience with other strains to compare it to (other than some super cheap dutch coffeeshop tourist-thingy seeds that I grew on my balcony that clearly sucked). I believe for such fast flowering, it leans quite hard towards the sativa side, which I find great. finding an indica that grows well in cold+rainy climate should be much easier.
