Strain Specific Question(What To Add To The Garden)

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by BudSkunk, Jan 5, 2014.

  1. Hello, Swim has decided that they needed a 3rd addition to the garden. This is not your typical what strain gives you higher yields, potency, etc.. question, no this is a more specific question.

Swim is on a quest to discovering the next new flavor of herb to add to swim's garden. There's certain requirements that must be met to actively thrive in swim's perpetual grow. The strain has to:

    1. Grow slowly during veg.(month+ to mature from clone)
    2. Fast flowering(7-8.5 weeks)
3.Miminal stretch(only have 3.5 feet of actual vertical plant space. 5ft total)
    4. Has to be DANK FROSTY PRIMO stuff!
    5. Has to be available in seeds OR has to be actively available clone in Colorado shops.

The 2 strains that swim has found to meet these requirements are:
    1. Grandaddy Purple
    2. La Confidential

Swim understands that indicas are probably swim's best bet with this, but don't respond by saying simply indicas, because not all indicas share the same characteristics. Some grow faster than others, some take alot longer in flower, stretch etc..

Yield, does not matter in the least

    PS
Some may say that any strain will work with any system, just require more care, and swim found that to be true, but sadly with a somewhat demanding job/life, swim just need something that's a good fit for swim's setup.,

  3. well first off, you don't have to use the acronym swim here. it's not a meth or heroin forum, and nobody's tracking you. especially in 'rado. feel free to say who this is actually for. you're good here, man :smoke:

now, to answer your question with a quick question of my own, why does it have to veg for more than a month?

simple answer: hindu kush. killer stuff.

  4. LACon is a great strain, too. you'd really enjoy that. and the guys at DNA know what they're doing for sure.

There's already LaCon in the garden as well as GDP. They have to grow slow in veg so they dont get huge and outgrow the space. Other strains such as Kandy Kush and Cheesedog has been tried before, but since the longer flowering and faster veg it got kinda messed up. The other plants had to veg for alittle too long while they wait for them to finish up plus the cheesedog and kk outgrew the 2 x 2 x 5 space quite a bit.(big stretch) Once cuttings are takin rigtht before flip they go into a cloning chamber til it grow roots(slow veg plants usually takes 2+weeks to root), then a rubbermaid container to veg for a few more weeks, then to a dr60(2x2x5) tent with t5s to start the flowering for about 3-4 weeks then finish up in the other dr60 with a 400watter. Theres a rotation that has to be kept and limited space.

So every 4 weeks or so there's a rotation

Hope this clearifies this up a bit, and thanks for the response and consideration towards this thread.

Heard great things about hindu kush as well. What seed company provides the best hindu kush? Sensi Seeds? Im going to research it now :)

Anyother suggestions? Would like to switch it up alittle more with the smoke, lol

  6.
Get a bigger space to grow in.

That really wasn't necessary; there's a good reason why it has to be a closet only type of deal. None of you fellow growers has never had a strain that had these characteristics?

    PS

dishphead: That hindu looks like it'll fit the bill for sure, right on man

  8. barneys blue cheese is pretty slow in veg but has a longer flower...I have sweet god seeds that are supposed to be quick flower but havent popped em yet..you can always use a weaker light to veg them slower just keep it close so they dont stretch
