So tonight I had a gig at this cafe with my band, I had just gotten off work and had my "Straight Edge" undershirt on that says xxx - im so damn hardcore, and i prove it by wearing this shirt. Itrs an undershirt that I wear, and for some reason a bunch of the "edge" kids from my school were there starting shit, and i politely walked in and set my rig up and we started playing, but this one kid comes up to me and says "What the fuck is up with your shirt, your gonna get your ass kicked you bitch, what are you trying to do?" This was while I was smoking a cigarette outside and i just ignored them, i was just jokingly stating my "views", and its no different from what they state o weararound
na the shirts a joke and notice how i used quotations on views if you read it you could understand it
i wasnt trying to be bad ass or be someone im not, you missed the point to my story, it was a shirt i made a long time ago and i wear it as an undershirt, the point was that just from wearing it after work i was ridiculed , even though the shirt is a joke, the straight edge kids at my school wear the same type of shirts, and its only really sarcastic and funny to my friends. im not personally going out of my way to offend anyone I dont see why some people on this site are so critical, I was just stating any observation of mine and I thought other people would be interested in my views, becaue in my area there is alot of tension between people who smoke, and those striaght edge that dont. so i thought it would pretain to being sorted as "general" on this site
I hate it when social groups are created to make people feel elite. Even when I didn't drink or smoke anything, up until 17, I didn't claim to be "straight edge" or ridicule someone who had different views than me. Nothing wrong with discussing or debating though. Like PETA and throwing paint on people. Others shouldn't impose their views on people, but instead seek to enlighten them. Hahahaa okay I don't know

Well, to me it kind of depends on how he reacted to them. If they automatically got that offended and violent and all he did was wear a shirt then he's right. If he was vocally deriding their beliefs, that's different.
Honestly, I misread it. I am very tired right now. And yes there are tentions. Straight-edge is almost a gang. There are groups out there that will literally kill you for smoking, or doing anything they consider wrong. They can be extremely radical. Hell, they were even the focus of 'Gangland' on the history channel.
I'm a little bit straight edge I guess, considering I refuse to pop pills or do anything besides MJ and mushies. Like I will not do them, I just wont. There is something about it that I just can't stand and border line hate. It's weird I know.. Maybe cause my pa died from Heroin OD and now everything besides mushies and weed makes me very very angry to see or even read about. I cant help it. Like a raw hate for anything thats not weed, shrooms and lsd. Like I get all super fucking raged when someone offers me anything besides the three I already listed, I know people are just trying to be nice when they offer stuff but I just can not do it. Edit: Like even typing out what I just wrote got me in a really pissy mood, its that bad. Another edit: I also watched my step aunt leave her 3 kids to go live with a meth dealer, and a friend of mine got hooked on OC and then ended up on meth, another girl I know had the same thing happen to her got hooked on OC then meth, then heroin. So after seeing my dad die of heroin, my aunt leave her kids from meth, my friend get hooked on pills and meth and another close friend get hooked on pills, meth and heroin. I have a very angry view on everything besides weed, shrooms and lsd.

^^If you do any kind of drugs, you are NOT straight edge. The straight edge kids piss people off because they make it a point to try to glorify their stance on drug use and push their views on others. It's just as fucking bullshit as anyone else trying to push their views on others, whether it be religion, abstinence, etc. Being straight edge isn't retarded in itself. It's a personal choice some people make.
