Storing High Amounts

Discussion in 'Marijuana Stash Box' started by dwayspecialist, Feb 5, 2019.

  1. Hello, I am planning for the future on storing cannabis, like ounces. I thought I'd put it in a plastic bag, but then I heard plastic decreases THC of cannabis over time & should only be in a plastic bag shortly, so what about Mylar or is that the same? What material do I put it in to keep THC.

  2. Why don't you just store your bud in large airtight Mason Jars - Your bud will be perfectly preserved for years (once cured properly etc...) Job done.

  4. Any time fella.

  5. If using boveda packs, do you just burp daily?

If not using them, this is my first grow, i was thinking maybe just getting some tiny humidity readers and plopping them in jars. Burping whenever it goes above 60%... although if it ever went below 50 im not sure what to do.

I don't like using boveda packs! Never have...But many do with good results! (maintains RH).
Once i hang dry for 5 - 7 days and i dry trim, i put into my mason jars...
You really DO need a hydrometer to put in your jars bro - It takes all the guess work out. I would be 100% lost without mine mate.....(£8 from Amazon)
Anything under 70% RH, it's all good... Anything over 70% RH, mould can come into play, so i will burp my jars...(leave lid open for an hour or so.../roll the jar/ pour the contents out and onto a piece of carboard for a while etc.) then back in the jar.
When you have a steady reading (usually after 48 - 72 hours) you can burp less and less, until you are happy with your RH % within the jars.
If you go under 55% RH - Your cure will stop, and it can never be restarted.
So never drop below that number and you should be golden!
(I usually stop burping around 58 - 60% RH and maintain that percentage)
Hope this has helped my man, speak soon.

  7. 65 and under u are fine. If u burp too much after that rhyme u will loose smell and taste a little. I use cigar humidity gauges [IMG][IMG][IMG]

  9. I've been using that method for years with the addition of the Boveda.Leave the screw down ring off so you can easily gently tug on the top to make sure the seal isn't leaking.I don't burp mine and never had a problem.Got stuff from 2 years ago and it's as good now as it was when sealed.About to unseal 8 oz's to make a VG/PG tincture.I put 2 oz's in each jar.I then just put the jars in a cardboard box on the floor in my unheated bedroom just to keep everything cool.So I can open the box lid and check my seals, simple, easy, and tested.
