I have a jar attachment for my food saver so the flower won't get crushed. Just curious if anyone has experience with storing their flower in a vacuum environment? Will it stay fresher longer or is this a bad idea for some reason? Thanks!
I've been vacuuming my jars for years. So far,so good. I put bovedas humidity packs in each jar also.
Interesting. How does it work better? My jar attachment for the foodsaver you load the lid in and then when the vacuum is achieved it pulls the lid out of the attachment which then seals the jar. This looks very similar but with an attached/built in pump vs. one that sits on a counter. Thanks
It's faster, smaller ,quieter ,and easier than the one I was using. Built in rechargable battery also.
Very cool! Cheap to! Looks like these are under $25 shipped and about the size of a softball. Thanks for sharing!!
Wait....in the fridge??? That's a potential game changer. I store anti-biotics in the fridge to preserve them. Doing that to flower works the same?? I know if you store bread in there it slows mold but degrades the quality faster and tomatoes can't handle the cold either, so the fridge isn't ALWAYS a remedy. Thanks
I rigged a hose to a HVAC pump. I use a PVC one inch couple at the end of the hose. Then a rubber washer on top of food sealer lids. It's fast and you can create a strong vacuum if you prefer.
I learned it for a stranger on the internet. Then others said they do it the same way. I hang for exactly 7 days no more. Then chop into individual buds and cure in paper lunch bags with the top folded over and held shut with a clip, about 1 oz per bag until cured and ready to jar. When it is perfect I jar and then I would have to defer to storing experts, but the fridge is probably still the best for me to store my jars in my house.
