So, here's the deal...... We have a room in our house that used to be used for something else but my wife and I recently decided to make it into an extra TV room. Our family is getting older and we need the extra tv room, especially when our kids' girlfriends/boyfriends come over. I also got to thinking that I want to a sort of "Man Cave" type of thing in there. I would probably use the room more than the kids. What I need from you, GC, is ideas. The room is 12' x 15' and I own a construction company, so just about anything is feasible. Let your collective imagination and creativity fly and let me hear your ideas!
Good projector would be good. We use one at my frat and nothing like watching college football/playing Madden, NHL, etc when everyone looks life sized
I say get at least a 720p projector. 1080p if you can swing it; you can definitely tell the difference on Blu-Ray on projectors (not most video games or TV broadcasts, though, so it depends what you'll use it for). A decent 4.1 or 5.1 surround sound system would be nice, too. With your skill set, hidden wiring should be no problem.
Yeah.....a pre-wired 5.1 system is a given..........That's what I put in the Great Room when I built the house. The projector is getting my interest, though. Originally I was thinking 3-D, but maybe the projector is a better idea.
Couches. Either individual recliners. (if you have a daughter this is recommended) Or maybe an L couch? Leather or suede Now entertainment system you could go 3d but its mad expensive and i would imagine you would get a massive headache if you watched it for too long. Just a nice flat screen. A minibar for a man cave is not optional. Its a necessity. Or go full out and build a bar. An xbox for some gaming pleasure. And to top it off Your man cave is ready,
One of my buddies had two rows of couches in his man cave with a projector and it was a pretty cool setup. He built a platform for the couch in the back so it was like a movie theater'rs stadium seating and wrapped it in the same carpet as was in the room. That said, a mini fridge and decent tv/projector are necessities. Love sacks are awesome as well. Enjoy the man cave man!

Cut off a couple feet of the end of the room and plasterboard in walls. Secret door behind a moveable bookcase. Now you've got an indoor grow room Bean Bags. Arm Chairs. Surround Sound. Gaming Setup. Lava Lamps & Black Lights. Fish Tank. Bong Cabinet. Book Case. Bar Fridge. Lots of posters
