  1. Hellow GC. I been feelin like a total loser lately because i dont have a job. I live with my parents still (im 18), and i smoke TONS of my dads weed. Like 1-2 grams a day. The thing is i dont know where to look for a job that pays decent. Ive worked for 7.50 an hour before and it was not anything near satisfying. I could not see me moving out with that pay. Basically i need a job that only requires a GED and wont do criminal background checks because i have several juvinile offenses from when i was 14. I cant even seal my record up untill im 23 either. My dad almost got me a job in the casino but i got screwed by the state of idaho changing their statue. Apparently its good for people to have juvinile records untill 23. Anyone in the same boat as me that has good work? Please share any ideas

  2. I say go to school.

  3. dead ass nno joke u have plenty of time to get a decent education and profession then when you get a real job you can buy pounds:)

  4. school would help.
or I.T. but ud need some certifications.

  5. School for sure.

    ...and it's "statute", not "statue"

  6. thank you so fuckin much! i needed someone to find misspelled words for me.
The thing about school is it cost so much money and im afraid i wont find a job after then ill be in worse shape than i am now. My dad went to college and it hasnt done shit for him and he still owes 20k at least

  7. I would suggest prob construction or something to that extent, roofing, framing, some kind of hard manual labor like that. Usually around $10 I believe and I seriously doubt high standards on background checks with the GED and criminal offenses. But I would have to agree with everyone else on this one, go back to school for sure, might even get some awesome financial aid that will give you couple hundred extra $$$ every semester.

  8. Ever thought about pizza delivery guy for the short term? Sure you'll probably get minimum wage but you can make 40-50, sometimes like 70$ a night in tips if you work a good night.

Do you have bills and expenses right now? Because I would just save up the money to move out, and maybe get some roommates to help cover rent costs for the first while.

But yeah your gonna need some kind of higher education to get a decent paying job, like even to get 25$/hr your gonna need some kind of education.

If college/uni sounds unappealing, i'd check out some trades, I thought about becoming an electrician at one point, because you get paid to learn instead of the other way around, and there's a high demand for most trade professions right now and electricians can easily get 40$/hr for a starting wage(not while your an apprentice of course:D)

  9. i started with one of these minimum wage jobs. busted my ass, proved myself, now im management and making over twice minimum wage. sometimes u gotta put up with the shitty jobs and they pay off later. thats about your only chance unless you go to college or catch a real lucky break somewhere.

  10. You'll learn the hard way school's where it's at.

Im 25 and back in school after doing the construction gig and I made $20/hr for the last two years and it isn't shit. Even on unemployment I make too much to qualify for any free medical or assistance for school.

The more money a job pays you for the less skill required, the less room there is to move up. So you can get a $20 an hour job that sucks ass, and you'll never get much more no matter how many years you stay, and your co-workers will be a bunch of ex felons. Those types of jobs you're looked down on so if you have trouble being told what to do without complaining you'll get shit on and laughed at until you quit. I remember my boss loved nothing more than getting labor ready guys and seeing how much they could take before walking off the job. I was offered as much overtime as I wanted which was nice sometimes, but even at $30/hr it was miserable.

The only way financing school will hurt you is if you don't finish, or you major in philosophy without using it to go on and get a dental or law degree. I know a few stoners who got communications degrees and then went to law school or dental school and they're gonna be rich.

State school is cheap, especially if you don't make any money. It only gets harder as you get older and have more responsibilities.

For IT and Business degrees there's an accredited online school which is not-for-profit and was started by some US governors to help working adults finish their degrees. It's called Western Governors University, and they charge $7k per year flat regardless of how many classes you take and that includes books. If you're smart and hard working you can get a bachelors in 2-3 years.

  11. Actually, you probably do need that if you're going to be filling out job/college applications.

You could always go military for a few years to qualify for the GI Bill then go to college and re-enter as an officer or say fuck it and get a job in the corporate world. They'll take anybody at this point and by the time you get out, all of your priors will no longer be on your record.

And if you decide on school don't get some bullshit degree like general studies. Find something you would enjoy that you would make enough to support yourself and your family. CPA...$55k/year starting. Lots of people blame school for not helping them out in their lives when they really have only themselves to blame for either picking a retarded degree or for partying too much/studying too little.

  12. haha thats what i do
    :hello:

  13. What are some good stoner jobs if you ARE in college? and need money to get high and such(get a new car,apartment,pussy):D... or if you can't/don't want to go to college?

  14. how bad is the wear and tear on your car? and do they pay for gas? how much? do you have to do anything else other than deliver?? (pizza hut is hiring drivers here :p)

  15. go to school and do a trade

  16. sucks living in the states i swear they drug test for like everyjob. I work at home depot right now i got hired while on charges and i make $11.00 starting rate. pretty good job

  17. HAHA Pizza driver is probably the best stoner job for real.

I worked at papa johns in 3 diff states before I was 20 and even in construction always told my co-workers I thought I could make more delivering pizzas.

The owner of 2 of the papajohns started as a delivery driver for Dominos, then became manager, then eventually borrowed against his house to buy his first papa johns. Within 7 years he owned several of them free and clear.
