Regina Spektor was born in Moscow, Russia back when it was still.. fucked up. Anyway, if you're goign to even listen to her, you should know her biography. I'll list my links at the end. She's a pianist/songwriter and I can't even begin to describe how much I love her music. Everything she writes is so deep and meaningful, but it's so diffeent from anything I've ever heard. She is truly one of the greatest songwriters of our time. I seriously suggest the album Soviet Kitsch for first time listeners. It has a little of everything. Listen to it start to finish and you'll see what I'm talking about. For those of you who are too lazy, here are some of my favourites by her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqUdIGSZ9lc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7gX8UbDiGA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESedXhEu5Vc&feature=related Hopefully, that will be enough to get you interested. Her biography can be found at www.reginaspektor.com There's also a site called www.regina-spektor.net where you can get her live songs, which are totally worth it. I've never been dissapointed by one.
I know, i wish i sounded like that. I sing to her songs and it sounds like a garbage disposal in the background. And she's such a good pianist! I don't know what's better, her voice, piano, or lyrics. I just love her.
