anyone know what's so important about the stock market, I've been seeing how it relates to the great depression(1929) and now, but my last history teacher(11th grade us history)told us we were going to learn about the stock market because "it's very very important", unfortunately the next class we got bombarded with a pointless project that took up at least a week of class time and we had to move onto something else. also when I see stock prices on the tv but I just see numbers and three letters and a decimal for each number, I dont understand any of it. so anyone know how I can get started on learning about stock markets?
