Stinky, smelly, buds while curing. Help

  1. Okay so I just finished my first grow and I'm in the process of curing. I dried my bud for about 2 weeks and while drying, it smelled sort of like a horse stable minus the shit. Well I'm now curing and I have my finished product in 3 jars. Two of the jars smell like shit. Actual shit! I opened the jars for the first time today and was blown away by the reekiness of my buds and not in a good way. The third jar suprisingly smells different. Sort of like a hamster cage. None of them smell like weed though. Anybody had this problem and know how to help?

  2. did you burp the jars at all?

  3. What do you mean by burp?

  4. The first week that you put the buds in the jar, did you open them a couple times a day to off gas it?

  5. Yeah I actually just put them in there yesterday and opened them to let air in tonight like 5 minutes ago

  6. You should open it once in the morning and once at night for 2 minutes for the first week. Or so.

  7. Alright thanks brah I'll try this. Would it being outdoor grown have anything to do with smell?

  8. Yes, that can affect the smell a little bit. Also, the nutrients and genetics of the seed you used can affect it too.

  9. I mixed organic miracle grow with just random garden soil. We had a rainy summer but when it wasn't raining I used hose water on them. I also used 14 random bag seeds 4 didn't make it out of the soil and 5 were male. It was fun watching them grow, and chasing deer away numerous times haha I plan on planting again next may. I'll still be happy with this strain I just named turd sandwhich if the smell doesn't get any better:)

  10. Don't use miracle grow next time, and invest in nutrients. it'll do ye good in the long run.

  11. Yeah I didn't look into how to grow at all me and my little brother one day just decided to germinate and plant some seeds on some land we own. We used what we had around the house and didn't invest too much of anything into this project but next year we will.

  12. Sounds good man. Well hopefully things will go well for you.

  13. there is a strain called dogshit.... maybe its related?
