Steyer 2020

Discussion in 'Politics' started by dobro49, Jan 10, 2020.

  1. I really haven’t paid a lot of attention to him so far but his numbers are moving up. I don’t look at the guy as a joke. A lot of people looked at Trump as a rich nut who would go nowhere and well, anything is possible. My concern with Steyer, like the rest of the field, is can he hang in a debate with trump? I think if somebody can get in there and sting Trump a few times, he will stumble. Bullies do that. Any thoughts?

  2. A fifth grader could hang with Trump in a debate........I mean....that man uses words like bigly......and refers to a WELL KNOWN retirement fund as a 409K........

I like him......but am still somewhat hesitant.

  3. Trump would look better to everyone IF they would allow him to be!! They dont want him to make shit better thats why they always tryin to find and bring up some bullshit to get him out. And yes i know everyones gonna not agree but i back trump!!!

  4. I don’t paint Trump supporters with one brush as I have friends and relatives who are Republicans but I’ll have to respectfully disagree here. I learned in the Boy Scouts that the only person responsible for stupid behavior is the one who does it. There is no they or the devil made me do it.

  5. I respect that!! Im nor (r) or (d) imo i do however think hes tried harder than others,,however they all are the same side at the end!!!

  6. I wasn’t a Trump hater when he took office, I just expected him to drop the kid act. I figured it would be like other republicans that I’ve lived thru, I’ll disagree but respect them. I actually met Bush Jr in 2000. Trump has constantly done things that are downright embarrassing. His seemingly high regards for saudi, which I have bashed presidents from both parties, that Putin meeting, his name calling. I heard that “liberals love terrorists” garbage in the Bush 2 years but he was smart enough to let the commentators do it. I regard a sitting president doing such as just way too far and I would be the exact same way if it were a dem or anybody in there. Talk about un-American, dam.

  7. I think underestimating Trump is part of the dogshit strategy the US anti-Trump crowd has been pushing for the last 3 years.

If Trump didn't stumble during the grab-her-by-the-pussy catastrophe and the debate right after it, a few zingers isn't going to scratch the paint.

I don't dismiss Steyer, and I like his main platform - but I maintain that the only person on the left that I would bet money on being able to kneecap Trump in a debate confrontation is Tulsi Gabbard. But the left seems intent on painting her as a Republican.

  8. I tend to agree about Tulsi Gabbard and admittedly, I don’t know enough about her or Steyer to be fully committed. I really think democrats haven’t gotten crazy excited for anybody because there doesn’t seem to be a early 90s Clinton or an Obama to grab headlines and charge folks up. Arguably, Bernie has had moments but something still seems to be missing.
