Get dogs. There is no better guard than a dog. You don't want a dog like a pit, though. My neighbor used to breed them; APBT, bullies, you name it, and let me tell you they are some dumb dogs. A great family pet and good at stirring up fear, but not if it had to actually do work. Get a doberman. And a shotgun wouldn't hurt, either. Get a sticker that says you belong to some gun club, and put a "I support my local PD" sticker on your car, too. Maybe even a state trooper sticker. Ok, the sticker is better for throwing off the scent of a cop, but I'm sure their heart would start pumping a little faster if they see a LEO sticker, you know?
