Stem Pinching

Discussion in 'Plant Training' started by CarpenTiger, Jun 1, 2020.

  1. Is this still a thing? I haven’t grown in nearly a decade but me and my partner used to always pinch the stem just barely about a week after topping normally a leaf set below the top. The stem would heal itself over the next week into these wicked knot.

I was never privy to the science behind it but we never lost plants to wind damage when others in our area would.

Just wondering if this is still a thing or if it’s been disproven over time

  2. I do it often. Don't know if others do or not. I use it to soften up a spot I'm about to bend over. And the main stock.

  3. Yep. Just got done bending and slightly breaking stems with small quarter sized buds on em' to keep my canopy level.
