Stem is bending over? Is this a bad thing! Need help!

  1. Yeah is this a problem of what? It just started bending over today, I've got her outside right beneath the glorious sun.

I've been watering around 3 times a day since it's in a small cup. Is this an indication of something wrong or is it completely normal?

    Cheers!

  2. that still looks healthy and not stretched. if it stretched more, I would stake it, but like this it should be able to support its own weight and straighten out. watering three times a day seems to much though, thats either too hot, too small a pot or youre just overwatering.

  3. Water once a day. Let the top 1/4" of soil dry out before watering

  4. C'mon now guys. Don't try to help someone if you don't know how. You just mislead them.

Watering 3x per day is too much. Watering 1x per day is too much. Watering once every 3 days might even be too much.

Over watering is watering too frequently, not watering with "too much." the soil can only hold so much water and everything after that runs off.

Root systems also need a fair amount oxygen to maintain the organic microbes which live in the soil and break down nutrition for the plant to uptake. Watering too often will starve the O2 that the system requires for normal healthy growth as well as create a hospitable environment for anaerobic (bad) bacteria, pathogens, and mold; rotting your roots. Without any perlite in your soil the time between waterings must be even greater as the air:water ratio in pure soil is very water dominant.

At this point it is live and learn. Try a toothpick and a twist tie to get the plant upright if she doesn't straighten out by the end of today. Lift the cup every day and feel the weight. When the soil is nearly dry it will feel unusually light. That's when you water again. Could be 3 to 5 days. Continue to lift the container every day and get a feel for how long it takes to dry out. When you find that once every two days isn't enough, transplant to a larger container.

Ebb between totally and evenly saturated to just nearly dry. This offers the best environment for your plant. Include some perlite in your mix when you move to a larger container, 20-30%.

My mix dries out in solo cup within a day give or take. I'm not "misleading" anyone.

  6. Cheers to all of you, I kind of thought it was over watering.

I'm just going to water when the top layer is dry/the cup feels light :)

  7. I have the same issue! My plant started bending over yesterday! I guess I had the lights too high. I lowered them to about a couple inches from the tops. She seems pretty healthy. Does looked stretched though:(

  8. your plant is way stretched, lower those pussy ass LEDs! xD
or better even, get some real lights...

either way, this stem wont be able to straighten itself out, so if you want it to be straight, you should stake it. with that lighting your plant is gonna keep growing stretchy, so you might as well start to keep it low now (-->LST).
I would defenitly add some sort of support. that stem will harden in a few weeks, but until it does, its at very high risk of breaking. cannabis can recover from that even at such a yung seedling stage, but its a risk that should better be avoided.

  9. Thanks bro! Although I am using fluorescent lighting with my pussy ass LED,s. should I just do away with LED's altogether?

  10. I wouldn't, just add some CFL's and make sure the bulbs are about 2 inches from the top. How many watts are on your seedling?
