you guys must be from the 'burbs or something. people that blatantly only beg or bum money from people to get a fix (be it crack, forties, or in this case pot) give a really bad rep to the people that actually need help. and people that beg for money for drugs dishearten me to a point where i assign that agenda to any random homeless person i meet. this makes me sad because i would like to be able to weed out (NPI) who actually deserves the help and who doesn't.

sry, i disagree with all the previous sentiments of this thread. no offense but i gave up on that perspective when i was like 16.

I concur with hardcore kid on this one. I'm down with helping out our more unfortunate brothers and sisters, but giving them illegal drugs (even our favored herb) won't help their situation. That'll be just another notch against the homeless, if people keep accusing them all of being chemically dependant freaks, which will make it harder to really help them rise above the poverty that our economy has driven them to.

I see what people are saying about the chemical thing but id smoke a homeless person up, I wouldn't support a drug or herion habit though.

But think about it, your lives shit and you live on the streets, what kind of living is that, most people don't deserve that, with the exception of some people (either too sketchy or too aggressive) I like to give them some money, whatever I can spare at the moment, whether its a 20 or a few quaters. At the end of the day I get to go home to a nice bed and eat a nice meal, watch tv or whatever, they can't.

I mean I can spend hundreds of dollars each month or two on weed, but some people just need to eat.. Ive giving money or food to homeless in toronto, nyc, san francisco, fucking rome italy (bought the guy a pizza), orlando all kinds of places.

 

thats what im talking about. if a guy on the street says to you "can i have money for food" you say no, you cant have my money but ill take you in this 7-11 and buy you a hot dog. 9 times out of ten, they will get pissed or turn you down or just walk away, because they dont really want money for food.

and by smoking them up, you must realize (ESPecially for someone with a sign blatantly asking for weed) you ARE supporting a "drug or heroin" habit, because at that point, that person is ABUSING the herb. in cities there are plenty of options like labor ready and other temp services and construction options that are available to help people out. work release programs from jail too.
