Stealthy... Need it short n bushy

    Im stealth growing due to roomates... I need to make my plant bushy n short. About two weeks in and it took awhile to get nice lighting, so it had to deal with windowsill lighting for a good week, therefore it stressed and grew vertically moreso than normal plants. second set of leaves starting to seperate from the first set (when it opens) and theyre already about 8-10 inches tall. Not real familiar with growing, and am not familiar with proper terms either, so i need a basic, simple explanation on topping correctly, etc. please help, thanks!
