a militia is about protecting the people, always has been, the military today, is about protecting the interest of the wealthy that own the government (both used to be about defending the people...then corruption took root in DC....) DC used to encourage the states to form militias, then it did an about face when states started to question DC's motives and honesty, so DC targeted militias as a threat to the feds...then, when militias were tiny and rare, they switched to a new boogeyman, when that boogeyman got old, they switched to another....soon, the cycle will come full circle... most paths to tyranny seem to follow this sort of sequence...
