Starting young causes low(er) IQ

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by frankenfish, Aug 27, 2012.

  1. I wouldn't doubt it, my old friend who started when he was like 12 still acts like he's 12 even though he's 19, explaining why he does the most stupid and foolish stuff and thinks it's funny, like taking something of yours and hiding it. Same goes with some other people, they seem to not grow up and some disconnect with reality.

  2. Well put it this way out of all the drugs out there including prescriptions and alcohol it does the least damage to your IQ if anything if used correctly it improves IQ as it awakens your mind causing your brain to be more active hence why it helps with Alzheimer's.

Dont believe the BBC it is a very politically biased TV station.

  3. I think starting drugs early is a sign of a low IQ itself. Most kids who start smoking weed early also started smoking cigs early, and will probably start drinking very early too.I think the whole party lifestyle breeds people with low intelligence capacity.

  4. could you cite a source that proves that? i'm genuinely curious i'm not trying to discredit anybody

  5. Well I graduated as valedictorian of my grade school and had an above average IQ before I started at 14 and still do. I guess I could afford those 8 points. :smoke:

  6. That's kind of a fucked up thing to say to someone when he's high.

  7. I started young and I still feel like I'm smarter than half the people I run into. Ever notice how many truly stupid people there are out there? I don't think it's weed that lowers your IQ, I think it's probably the lack of exercise people give their minds. It needs its work out just like the rest of your body. Some people who smoke don't bother doing anything other than what they have to, they choose not to do any serious thinking. I personally love to read and solve puzzles. I love learning new information and look shit up on my own just because I can. A lot of people don't do this. Either way, I read parts of the study and they said it was safe for people over 18, but unsafe for people under 18.
I thought the brain didn't stop developing until later in life?

  8. your brain chemistry continues to change until your mid 20's.
but i truly believe smoking at a very young age could be detrimental to the proper development of one's brain.

  9. i think its because many young teens don't have the mature capacity to control cannabis use, hence they are never responsible about it

  10. Me, for almost 2 years now

  11. Everyone is different, it can have detrimental effects for some or absolutely none for another person. I know people who smoked the majority of their teenage years but their fine/intellectual/stable/self providing people. On the other hand there is a lot more people who it can disadvantage. Just got to find what's right for you.

  12. How young are we talking about besides wasn't there an study that said natural gifted kids are most likely to flirt with mind alternate substances and this is far different from the ones that use drugs for its external uses instead of inner.

  13. ^beat you to it ma negro

  14. Don't believe everything you see on television. I've been smoking on and off since the beginning of high school. Graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and college with a 3.8:smoke:

  15. I know a younger kid that's really smart naturally (he started at 14, now 16) and he's still quite intelligent. I know quite a few others that start that young though and always wind up kinda ignorant at the very least. It's a touchy thing i guess, though for the most part i suppose their right.

  16. I think it varies from person to person. Just like the effects of it and how much people get mentally depended. I started when I was fourteen and now I'm nineteen. Had good grades all the way through high school, played sports, exercised twice a day (and still do), etc... It just depends.

Also, I may seem like I have trouble understanding things or wording what I mean properly but I had trouble socially with understanding and communication since I was young WAY before I started smokin.

  17. School isn't difficult, neither is college. That doesn't have anything to do with this study or others that have been done.

Nobody knows whether it does or doesn't for young kids smoking, "I'm smart!" claims for this are just as bad as some of these little studies.
