  1. i bought the same thing the other day for the same reason. i know alot of people use peat moss and its just dehydrated peat moss. i had a seed sprot out of it yesterday

  2. thanks, i was wondering what they were made of so I could research some. I guess these wouldnt be good to use in hydro

I think I will pick them up anyway. Under 5 bux, well worth it i think

  3. jiffy pellets are awesome man. I used them to start my babies, they spring up out of that shit quick. I've been looking into hydro, getting ready to start a clone in a bubble bucket. from what I gather so far they are ok to use for hydro, I'm going to try.

  4. I have actually found conflicting reports about using jiffy pellets with hydro ... guess there is only one way to find out for sure.

Next crop I will try a couple in them ... plan on making a journal for this one so be on the look out guys. Harvest should be a couple of weeks away so it shouldnt be long:D

  5. Jiffys are great for starting seeds in.

The key to using them in a hydro set up is making sure the jiffy doesn't stay wet. This is possible in some systems and not in others.
A jiffy in a 5" netpot of hydroton rocks over a DWC is fine for example. The water is just far enough away that the jiffy will stay dry.
If you're careful with your water levels...it should be fine in an ebb/flow as well, with rocks.
Jiffys and rockwool don't mix well tho as the wool would wick too much moisture over to the jiffy.

    Anony
