Starting over

  1. I was wondering if there is anyway to take a cutting of a badly grown plant and start over. I've been growing "Sprouty" for many months, I'm not exactly sure how long. I grew it VERY badly with the wrong kind of light to start with, so now the plant is about 4 feet tall or so. This causes problems now because it can't get water and stuff all the way to the top and while it is still alive and growing properly under it's new lights, it doesn't look that good. I'd like to just start over with this plant. I have a 2 1/2 week old seedling in there too, and would like to just regrow "Sprouty" so that I can flower them at the same time. I know that you can clone plants but don't know how. Is it difficult? Do I just snip off part of Sprouty and stick in in a pot? I have no idea if this would work or if I should just scrap the whole plant or just work with what I have. Thanks for any advice!

Oh yeah, is there any way other than a fan to make a stem stronger? My little new plant falls over sometimes from its weak stem but I can't get the fan to blow on it (since Sprouty is so tall, the new kid has to be on boxes to lift it up to Sprouty height where the lights are and it is IMPOSSIBLE to angle the fan that way; i tried for an hour!) Thanks!

  2. if you have a viable growth node close to the bottom of the stem you can clip Sprouty down close and let that node or secondary stem regenerate the plant.

look at overgrow.com FAQ and look for a page called regenerating or rejuvinating a mother plant, because that is basically what you will be doing.
