I've got some general knowledge from reading the forums and such and have many live and healthy plants. Never grown the M.J. before and wanna describe my small and simple setup. I have started two compost buckets which formerly were mudding buckets for drywall and have been cleaned. I layered some grass leaves ash from wood eggshells a mango and shredded egg carton oh and pine needles with a layer of dirt on top of them placed a few worms in each, drilled holes for ventilation on sides top bottom. I have also collected a bucket of dirt from a forest in my backyard placed about 25 worms in there to collect their castings to richen the soil even further . I have started this 4 days ago, I started around seeds from bags nothing fancy I put it in a tupperware bowl with moistened paper towel and have my biodegradable seedling pots on standby. I also purchased a 65 watt plant bulb and Blood meal and Bonemeal from Miracle-Gro I couldn't find and Potassium at my local hardware store. I wanna know some input about what is good and bad from a slightly seasoned grower I'm just trying to keep it small and simple yet high quality and yield buds....but who doesn't ? lol comments/tips please!
i would never have that much energy to put into soil. decent bought soil will have every thing the soil needs and can get repeatable results imo.
Well I hope if I put my heart and soul into it might be better lol I understand the constant result matter. So what kind of soil however? I hear anything with fertilizer can kill it...true? Sorry 4 delay on posts I use a PS3 so I have to text pretty much...lame
So I put my seeds in my dirt because theyre taproots started breaking out. Questions however...How moist to keep soil light mist every 12 hrs perhaps? Another would be is 6 hrs of sunlight sufficient enough or should I put them under my 65 watt plant bulb?
Read a germination guide, just need to presoak and drain the soil well, then put the seeds in and that should be it. I leave mine in the dark until they have sprouted.
My sprouts are popping up 1 by 1 a day good sign. Now I want to know some good soil layering etc. I live in a very small town and no one carries peat-moss however, I have sand and moss from my back woods for use. What are some good recommendations of amount of these per my Half through 5 gallon pots? No I have no source of small pebbles, also would the moss from the woods have bad parasites and bugs?
