Starting on window indoors, finishing outdoors!

Discussion in 'Outdoor Grow Journals' started by TaekwonDank, Apr 15, 2016.

  1. Ok hello this is my first post here.

I have this log on other sites too btw.

At the moment I have 11 plants ( 5 of some lemon strain bagseed @ 6 of some purple strain, not sure exactly).
I am currently in Northern Hemisphere in a very wet and windy country.

I am growing them on my windows for a little while then putting 10 outside in the next month. At the moment there is about 14 hours of sunlight a day.

I am using a mixture of nutrients, organic for some and chemical for others. I will post more about these later.

I am going to keep one plant indoors switching through window sills where the sun is strongest for 12 hours a day and then in the closet for 12 hours. ( all plants have sprouted 3 weeks ago btw ). I want to do this btw.

I have also begun LST on the grow and plan on pinning all plants to the ground outdoors eventually to make a carpet sorta effect.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

All have been repotted Into multipurpose compost with john innes and I'm not sure which number JI btw, doesn't say.

I am using hydro coco grow, a very cheap product but Iv heard it has been used and is ok. I will post NPK ratio later on.
On the other half I am using fish, blood bone 4-7-4 just mixed in with the compost, most of the plants have also been repotted into this compost with the original sprouts being in coco coir with just water.

This is all but ONE, that one being the one under 12/12 schedule, notably, 4 also are still in coco coir (with no compost) , these ones are being fed the chemical nutrients.

    The NPK etc. of the hydro coco nutes are as follows;
    NPK
    10 - 5 - 4

    Ureic Nitrogen 7.8%
    Ammoniacal Nitrogen 2.2%

    Phosphorus Pentoxide
    P2 O5 soluble in water 5%(2.1%P)

    Potassium Oxide K2O
    Soluble in water 4%(3.3%K)

& also contains plant extract with sugars and amino acids. Boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, zinc.

I have once fed some of the plants with this and they have been as they should, I made a 500ml bottle with roughly 1ml give or take inside it and shared it among 4 seedlings.

And this one above has a mixture of FBB & chem nutes as well as a mixture of coir & compost.

Can someone share any information about seeds from bags with me?

I would appreciate downers stay off this post aswell, Iv read it all before " bagseed won't even grow, window sills arent enough etc etc"
Iv had good results in the past with bag seeds indoor and outdoor but always just with one little mistake fucking it all up be it destroying the plant/s (on purpose), male plant instead and even just smoking it before drying properly etc...hopefully this time all will go to plan.

I hear that one can be more towards one strain while another from the same bag could lean towards becoming the other parent strain?

I really appreciate all the positive feedback and advice so please go ahead and comment.

  2. TD..
It depends on how the seed was formed.. If you just find a couple of seeds in a bag they are likely self seeded late in flower last ditch attempt by the plant to reproduce and I personally love finding that couple of seeds..
They'll be female plants as that's all the plant had to work with there being no males around..
    .
Now if your buying stuff like say low end Mexican dirt weed that is 15% seeds anyhow it's one of 2 things.. Regular mixed male and female seeds or a hemi disaster waiting to happen but you won't know that until you grow them out.. Odds are they are just regular seeds and it's like cracker jacks with a prize in every box..
Regular seeds are as wildly crossed as people are.. You may carry a resemblance to one parent or the other and all your brothers and sisters may look similar but John is 6' 4" tall while Sue is just 4' 9".. Bob has brown hair and Judy is a blond.. But you all have dads nose..
    .
Taking a break from the legal yard of clones I've run for the past 5 years and fired a bunch of seeds for this summers run

  3. Cheers for the info BrassnWood, has raised my hopes some bit, hope the majority (or all) are female.
They were collected from bags of relatively potent European weed and I specifically recall wondering how smoke of thiat quality even contained seeds to begin with, one batch that half the seeds came from, I found 25 seeds in 2.5 g and this smoke had a lovely lemony smell and taste, the other batch had only about 15 seeds in the same amount but the stone was very strong & the weed had a purple hint to it.

Looks like what ya got there is the beginning of something very nice, have you got a grow log? I wish you the best :)

  4. Here's some of the bambinos sitting out in the morning Sun.

And also, (if you look closely) the one I have begun 12/12 with is starting to show little pointy type growths from between main stem and leaf stems.

Are they beginning to show sex to me?
Sorry I can't get any closer with the pic, its taken by my phone.
These plants are all 3 weeks old btw.

  6. Ok so today I planted three outdoors! :) the weather seems to be picking up a small bit. More Sun as the days pass. I put these three in a large clearing of grass in a foresty type area. There is a lot of plant life around where I put them btw including grasses, thorn bushes, vines etc. I also seen a lot of spiders in the grass so hopefully they will help keep unwanted critters at bay. I spotted a small field mouse close to where the plants are too if that's of any concern I dont know, didn't think it would be tbh.

3 weeks since these were potted today, I think.

Can someone please help me, are these little "spikes" that are sticking from between the stalk and the leaf stem an early indication of plant sex?? Someone..

  8. Don't seem to be too helpful a bunch here....lol is anyone even paying attention to this journal, no?

Anyway, looking extra healthy on this fine morning.

  15. looks good man

  16. Did I read you got 25 seeds out of 2.5 grams and you're hoping for all females? If so, don't get your hopes up. If they are married seeds then I'd look for maybe 1-2 fems out of every 5 seeds. You could have you some hermie seeds though :(
