Starting a juice fast tomorrow. I'm aiming for 7-10 days however, if it begins to be easy enough and I'm not getting cravings to eat I'll extend it for as long as possible. I'm doing this to detox excess metabolic waste and reduce some inflammation I can feel in quite a few parts of my body. This will definitely help me increase my nutrient absorption abilities and cut my body fat down to a minimum before I go a building cycle for the fall/winter. I'll use this thread to possibly post some pics of my juices or give updates. Y'all can ask any questions or add to discussion... Oh and I recently got arrested for bud so I'm on a t-break for now as well.
Cool cool. I was thinking about doing a juice/bone broth fast soon. Maybe I'll start tomorrow as well.
Kudos to anybody that can fast. I have a fast metabolism and don't have the willpower to do it. I might die
Well it's not really a fast...the only true fast is a water fast when absolutely no nutrients are being given to the body. I guess a more appropriate term should be juice feast. It's definitely gonna take will power though for the first couple days. Through my research however I heard it gets increasingly easier the longer you go. I expect the first couple days to be pretty hard but by day 5 or 6 I think I'll stop getting cravings to eat.
What do you mean?
Like my stomach hurts real bad, I get light headed, even passed out once
Your too reliant on glucose. Try switching to a high fat low carb diet prior to fasting next time. Or maybe try eating more coconut oil. The MCT(medium chain triglycerides) in coconut oil bypass digestion in the stomach and go to the liver by means of the portal vein where they're turned into ketones.

What kinds of juice? Also what are other ways to get rid of excess metabolic waste? Does acai actually work? Fiber of course right?
Today I drank two 32 oz juices...freshly juiced of course. First was apple, pear, and cucumber for breakfast. Second was celery, carrot, and apple for lunch/dinner. I'm easing into the heavy green juices because they can be very potent and cause some serious detoxing effects if you jump into to quickly. I'll do another fruit/veggie juice tomorrow for breakfast and then do a dark leafy green juice for lunch/dinner. Eventually I'll be able to drink more juice in a day and I'll be able to do more dark greens and herbs. Other ways to detox is just a fruit and veggie raw food diet. Mostly fruit though. High water fruits like apples, watermelon, pears, pineapple, etc are the king of detoxing. Whole veggies really should avoided if trying to detox. The key is to eat your fruits and drink your veggies. Drinking everything is best however. And nah fiber isn't really helping when detoxing metabolic waste. That's why you should drink juices instead of smoothies. Metabolic waste IS fiber and mucus that is in your digestive system. You're tryingto break that down and get rid of it...introducing new fiber to get rid of old fiber doesn't really work as well. Fruits are detoxing because although they have fiber they also have high levels of water and they don't leave behind much waste. It's not really the fiber that you should pay attention to, but the whole food as a package. Meat, dairy, grains, nuts, seeds, cooked food, etc should be avoided while detoxing. They leave behind far too much waste and create excess mucus, so those foods aren't beneficial while detoxing. And I don't know much about acia but you absolutely don't need that. Superfoods are played up a bit too much IMO... Spending money on fresh fruits and veggies is much more worth while than buying a bunch of superfoods.
Today was easier than I expected. The juices kept me satisfied enough to resist the temptation to eat. Hopefully it gets easier though cause I can't up this will power for longer than a few days.
Nah...that would be a smoothie I used a juicer and yes it's just fresh fruits and veggies. Nothing added. It doesn't taste amazing but it doesn't taste terrible either. It really depends on the juice honestly. Darker green juices taste worse than juices with more sugar.

And do you still get the same health benefits if you used a blender as a juicer?
Juicers vary in price a lot and there are a couple different types of juicers which serve different purposes. I would do research before buying anything. Also, for detoxing juicing is definitely better. For long term though making smoothies is better for meals IMO.
Well I just started today and I didn't work out today cause it was my first day back to class and I just didn't feel like it. I could have if I wanted to though. Plenty of energy.
might i suggest ginger root in your juices? makes juices taste 100% better in my opinion. but make sure to use VERY LITTLE. its easy to overdo it.
I just got two huge chunks today. I plan on making a "lemon ginger blast" tomorrow for lunch. Do I have to peel it before putting it in?
