    Your medium(soil)
    i prefer
Miracle-Gro Sphagnum Peat Moss (walmart)- under $5.00 usually depending location
Miracle-Gro-8qt-Perlite (walmart) - under $5.00 usually depending location
    Timberline 40 Lb. Pulverized Lime (Lowe's) $3.12
    Sta-Green 8-Quart Vermiculite Premium Soil (Lowe's) $5.24
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
The most preferred soil is Fox Farms, but if your like me and dont live near a Hydro store you go through this.
mixing and percentages 60%peat moss- 10 perlite- 10-lime- 20- vermi
vermi makes the soil not clumpy and its good for the rooting and drainage therefore i use a good bit. I might used more perlite and less lime. but ill update with pics with my new grow.

  2. Remember for CFLs you want 100 ACTUAL watts of light per plant. Not that equivalent stuff. :)

  3. 100 watts? I dk if i could find any for.2600 but the .6500 is a 300 watt

  4. if you're gonna use fluorescents, i'd go with a t-5. they're the cadillac of fluoro's!

  5. Agreed. T5's can get the job done. Be sure to do a slight Sea of green style/lollipop grow or flower earlier than usual; T5's in my opinion don't penetrate more than 2-2.5 ft down. :)

  6. the thing about T-5s they are long and i do not have a socket or lamp for them cause of space. Thats why im going with bulbs

  7. ^^^what he said!^^^ you gotta keep em short. as a matter of fact, i'd do a scrog!

  8. whats a scrog...

  9. it's a screen of green. look in the advanced section for greenmonsters thread on scrogs, it's a great tutorial!

  10. could you possibly post that on here for me my man? 8D

  11. haha whoa.. thats straight up bud

  12. how would you do that

  13. You put plants in the grow area, prune them so the growths are even. You then place a screen at a certain height you want them at and then you grow them into the screen as you trim off undergrowth that receives little to no light.

  14. how do you prune them>? sorry for asking so much questions

  15. Go read some

    SOG - Sea of green
    or
    LST - Low Stress Training

    Forums

Great Advice and images on getting max weight out of a confined space.

Also if you search on those terms you can light it up and watch some bud porn.

  16. Pruning generally done with a steel razor or trimming scissor's that have been sterilized in alcohol.

  17. sounds good i'm going to have to try that out. I wonder why most people dont do this

  18. there's a bit of a learning curve involved, but the increased yield is well worth the time it takes to learn. follow greenmonsters info., and you'll do fine.
