Yes, it's possible, but you will have to rinse all the dirt from the roots before placing them in a hydroponic system.
that's what i thought, i was just wondering if doing that might harm or stop growth in any way... thanks for the reply
i'd say it would stress the plant a bit.........maybe work, but why do you want to?...........Peace out.......Sid
Anytime you disturb the root mass you will stress the plant. Yes this could have an effect on the final harvest, and it will take the plant longer to complete it's growth cycle. As Sidious stated " why do you want to?". I also believe that you should keep them right where they are. You will be better off. Good luck.
i grow salvia, and i tried it with 4 healthy plants, 2 of them died pretty quick, and there is one more that is only so-so, it puts salvia plants into shock pretty bad, so good luck if you do it, i would just wait and start off any clones straight hydroponically instead of putting older plants in there.
Right now I'm starting my seedlings in a half and half mixture I bought of peatmoss and vermiculite. I'm planning on switching them over to my bubble buckets once they get big enough. I read about people doing this with clones...so I'm hoping it won't mess up my babies once I put them in the bubblers.
I think you should just do exactly that. Just take clones of the ones you are already starting in soil, and put them in the bubblers. As Sid said, the stress is gonna whack those plants, there's also no telling how many roots you're gonna rip out tryin to seperate them from the peat. Whatever you decide, good luck. NS
