Started my first grow on monday, 3 seedlings planted for 3 days now still no signs of shoots. Using 5 20W CFLs with a 12" fan for ventilation. Temp around 23C and soil PH of 6.8, looking like a decent start, any suggestions?
The tinfoil does nothing good and can even cause heat spots which will burn plants. I know it looks reflective and all but white paint is better than foil. Your CFLs seem to be yellow and not bright white. 6500k is daylight and recreates the light the plants would get for vegging. 2700k is yellow light and is what they need when they are flowering. And 100w total for 3 plants will not be enough once they really start growing. CFLs that are further than let's say 3-4 inches from the plants are doing almost nothing since the effectiveness of the bulb for growing falls off rapidly every inch. The bigger the bulbs the more lumens your plants will have to absorb. 20watters are tiny!
