Yep ended up flushing that day. I went to the hydro store and spoke with the people there about it. I'm foliar feeding with CalMag, and flushed it. It looks like the burning has stopped, and *I think* the foliar feeding is helping what I think is a calcium deficiency. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Thanks for the help though, just confirmed that I should have flushed When should I try feeding Grow Big again and how much? Last time I used 1 teaspoon per gallon, but I was thinking maybe the same amount since it's got bigger?
I always use a little measuring syringe...(3$ by the babystuff) I'd try like 3-5ml per gallon....I prefer to feed with lighter doses more often, instead of water, water, heavy dose. a teaspoon is 5 ml btw tablespoon is 15...I just find the syringes more accurate I'd hit it with light nutes once it's dried well from the flush. and maybe throw in 2ml calmag too. I've never foliar fed a plant so I don't know anything about that
Day 24: Thanks for the advice Bongsauce I didn't get out to the store to get a syringe but my pH tester has a 5 ml mark on it so I just used that to judge how much. I put about 3ml of Grow Big in and about 2ml of CalMag. We'll see how she responds to that She's looking real good though, my topping was successful and my LSTing is going well! Looks like she is starting to show some nute deficiencies but hopefully these feeding will fix it.
Haha yea, you can't tell from the picture but it has about 4 layers I held a flashlight up to it and kept adding layers until I couldn't see through anymore. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on her because it looks like she definitely has a deficiency, don't know what though. It reared it's ugly head since yesterday, and it seems to be in a lot of places, but just on the top of the plant. It could be light bleaching, but I don't think the lights were too close. Just to be safe though I moved them up a little. I'll post some updated pics tomorrow. She did seem to like the nutes though I think, or she just decided to grow an inch or more since yesterday Either way I like it
Day 27: Wow was the pH low when I checked her. My meter only goes down to 6.0 but it took 2 gallons of over 7.0 water before it finally started registering. I got her back up to our 6.4-6.5, I'd like a little higher, but my back was killing me from watering so much. I think she's looking good though, great growth the past 3 days. I think the nute deficiency is probably just from a pH lockout, we'll see if this helps.
Day 29: She has exploded the last 2 days! pH is still a problem, I'm going to go get some dolomite today to help buffer it so it doesn't keep dropping every 12 hours. On a side note, how much longer do you think I should let her veg before switching over to flower?
at this rate I'd let her fill out her container then flip to 12/12..should only be a few days as fast as she's going...
I'm using FF nutes, Grow Big right now, as well as some CalMag. Haven't even given her that much though because I've been trying to fix the pH levels and have to keep flushing. The dolomite should fix that though. My watering schedule has been off the past few days, I flushed back to back days to try to correct the pH (unsuccessfully I might add). But normally it's about every 3 days or so.
Wow she really blew up man! I'm not even close to expert but given that amount of quick growth, think your pH meter could be a little out of calibration or low battery or something? I'm only asking cause I thought a pH lockout was supposed to result in some stunted growth. Don't quote me though, you are more an expert than I am!
Well I don't think it was locking out all nutes since it was still in the mid 5 range. Also, since I kept watering and bringing the pH back up, the nutes weren't being locked out for long periods. I added dolomite yesterday, we'll see if that helps. I'll water on Tuesday probably, and I'll add some nutes in since I've flushed most out recently. I'll post some pics of it in the case on Tuesday!
Day 33: She's still growing strong! I did a good amount of LSTing on her in the last few days. She has a bit of a deficiency, not sure of what though. You can't see it in the picture really, but some tips are yellow, and she has some brown spots on the spine of 1 or 2 leaves. Gave her some more nutes today, about 1/2 strength, with some CalMag added in. I'm thinking I'm going to switch her over on Monday. What does everyone think about that? Pic of her in case
yeh I think after she sucks up that food she's gonna take off. She'll probably fill out nice over the next few days...nice structure, good work with the training.
I guess Monday it is then! I'm still not sure about the brown spots. You can see them on my latest picture on some leaves (middle slightly off to the right on the middle of the leaf). Any ideas on it? Seen some pictures that look like it's pH lockout, but my pH is now corrected, it's at 6.7 or so (using a test tube, so calibration isn't a problem). Could be Calcium deficiency too I guess. Maybe it's delays from the pH lockout?
How is the performance of the TD-100? Is it very loud? Is your carbon filter a DIY one? Your plant is looking good.
