Squirrels, birds, opposum?

  1. Hallo everybody, I'm new here. I am a first time grower, and unfortunately it is harder than I expected.
The thing is, I planted two plants in the woods behind my house and when I came back a few hours later they were dug up! I was in shock, I wanted to cry. Well the good news is that I salvaged them and they live, but I cannot keep them inside.
So what happened, and what can I do about it?
I assume it is some freaking animal, but damnit.
    Thanks

  2. Critters are a serious problem when growing outside. Especially in a 'wilderness' setting. If you have a dog, gather some of its fresh droppings and place them in a circle about 3' from your plants, and encourage it to mark your territory, even more thoroughly with urine. Put some rocks aound the bases of plants, and set bamboo skewers point up among them, to discourage digging pests. I had to do this to keep the cats from using my garden as a sandbox, and nibbling on the foliage. Humans are not the only critter for whom Cannabis is a treat!
Good luck, your friendly neighborhood earth girl {8^)
