well, its a lot like outdoor, in that one plant that covers 25 square feet will yield WAY more than 25 plants that cover 1 square foot. only difference is there is usually a lot more training, pruning, and supercropping to be done on an indoor than an outdoor to keep them short. having less plants is often easier to maintain. my main theory on plant size: 1" of stalk with a diameter of 1" has about .75 cu. in of volume. 1" of stalk with a diameter of 2" has about 3 cubic inches of volume nutrient uptake increases exponentially to the diameter of the stalks
